dYdX Domain Hijacked, Two Users Lost About $31,000

Bittime - Domain platform dYdX, dydx.exchange, experienced piracy. This incident occurred after dYdX Trading's Squarespace account was successfully accessed by attackers through a social engineering attack on Squarespace customer support.

dYdX User Lost

During the approximately two hours that the dydx.exchange domain name was hijacked, two users experienced significant losses, totaling approximately $31,000. dYdX Trading immediately took action by contacting the affected users and promising full compensation for the losses they experienced.

dYdX Domain Migration

After successfully re-securing the domain name, dYdX took additional steps to prevent similar incidents in the future. One important action taken was to migrate the domain from Squarespace to Cloudflare, which is known to have stricter and more sophisticated security controls.
