Bittime - The Sui Foundation is proud to announce the end of the Sui Overflow Hackathon, their first global hackathon, on June 21 2024. This event saw 352 project submissions take place. These projects compete in 8 categories, namely Consumer and Mobile Applications, DeFi, Games, Infrastructure and Tools, Advanced Move Functions, Multi-chain, Randomness, and zkLogin.

Community Favorite Award dan University Award

Not only that, the Sui Overflow Hackathon was also enlivened by the active participation of the Sui community who chose 10 "Community Favorite Awards" through online voting. Additional awards were also given to 10 student teams (University Award) and awards from Sui ecosystem projects.

Participants came from 79 countries, with the countries with the highest participation being India, China, Nigeria, Vietnam and the United States. Participants have diverse backgrounds, from students to experienced blockchain developers, with many having experience on Solana, Polygon, and EVM-based blockchains.

After going through a strict selection process, the jury selected the 65 best projects and then determined the winners in each category.

Sui Overflow Hackathon: Innovative Projects

The Sui Overflow Hackathon was attended by various innovative projects. For example, pprojects in the Consumer and Mobile Applications category that leverage Sui's unique features to simplify the use of blockchain in consumer and mobile applications.

Meanwhile, DeFi category projects use Sui's unique network architecture and primitives to facilitate decentralized financial services.

The Sui Overflow Hackathon is also a showcase for game developers to show the potential of the Sui blockchain in the gaming realm. This is proven by the presence of various interesting games such as AresRPG, an open-world 3D MMORPG game that uses Sui as its database.

Another category that is no less interesting is the Infrastructure and Tools category. This category showcases new tools and applications created to help developers build and optimize development on Sui.

With this global hackathon, Sui hopes to accelerate the growth of its ecosystem with the birth of various innovative projects, from developer tools to games, built on the Sui blockchain.
