GammaSwap Airdrop Allocation Increased from 32 Million to 48 Million $GS

Bittime - GammaSwap will increase its GammaSwap airdrop allocation from 32 million to 48 million $GS tokens. The GammaSwap airdrop will begin on September 9th and will be distributed weekly for 8 weeks.

GammaSwap Airdrop Allocation  

GammaSwap's airdrop allocation is based on a points scheme that has been implemented since January 2024. These points are given to users who have carried out certain activities on the platform, such as borrowing, lending or making referrals. 

This points scheme is designed to provide rewards to users who actively participate on the GammaSwap platform. Users who have a point value of more than zero in these categories will be eligible to receive the airdrop.

Points for Mainnet and Testnet Users 

In this points scheme, users who have participated in Alpha Mainnet and Testnet get an initial points airdrop with a multiplier of 2x and 1.5x respectively. 

Users who trade with Perpetual Options earn 2 points for every $1 traded, while liquidity providers (LP) earn 1 point for every $1 of liquidity provided. 

These points are updated daily at random times, encouraging users to stay active.

Additional 16 Million GS Tokens for GammaSwap Airdrop

GammaSwap decided to increase the airdrop allocation from 32 million to 48 million $GS tokens. The additional 16 million tokens were taken from the treasury allocation. This step is expected to further increase user enthusiasm and participation in the GammaSwap ecosystem.

So far, around 1,200 wallets have interacted with the GammaSwap Beta Mainnet and are eligible for the GammaSwap airdrop. While this number may seem small when compared to other categories within DeFi, such as liquidity staking or lending, keep in mind that adoption for new categories like these usually takes time. 

For example, Pendle, which moved a large category from Traditional Finance (TradFi) to DeFi in a unique way, also only had around 1,200 users in March last year and continues to grow with education and providing leverage.
