The BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity (BUIDL) fund managed to distribute more than $2 million (Rp. 32.4 billion) in dividends in July. This is an all-time high for their monthly payments.
According to data from Etherscan, this tokenization fund distributed $2.12 million (Rp. 34.3 billion) to investors in July, an increase of around 16% from the previous month.
To date, BlackRock funds have paid out more than $7 million (Rp. 113.4 billion) in dividends. When announcing the launch of the BUIDL fund, BlackRock mentioned various benefits for investors. These include "enabling the issuance and trading of holdings on the blockchain, expanding investor access to on-chain offerings, providing instant and transparent settlement, and enabling transfers between platforms."
BUIDL Becomes Highest Value Tokenized Treasury Fund
According to Securitize, BUIDL has the highest value among tokenized treasury funds. This treasury fund recorded a market value of more than $500 million (Rp. 8.1 trillion).
Other prominent on-chain funds include Franklin Templeton's OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund (FOBXX) and Ondo Finance's USD Yield (USDY) fund.
BUIDL Dividend Yield Growth and Institutional Investor Acceptance
BUIDL's dividend yield growth comes as more institutional investors adopt tokenized money market funds.
This is due to its better liquidity, accessibility and efficiency compared to traditional funds, according to financial services firm Deloitte. Additionally, DeFi protocols like Ondo have started leveraging BUIDL for their derivatives products.
BlackRock and Crypto ETFs
Meanwhile, BlackRock is also one of the main providers of spot Bitcoin ETFs and spot Ethereum ETFs, the latter of which began trading on July 23.
The company's chief investment officer, Samara Cohen, mentioned earlier this week that we likely won't see additional funds based on other crypto assets in the near future.
