Ethereum Boss Vitalik Buterin Disburses NEIRO For Charity

Bittime - Vitalik Buterin, the boss of Ethereum (ETH), has again attracted public attention with his generous steps. Recently, Buterin sold a number of digital assets, including Neiro (NEIRO) and several memecoins, to fund donations to the charitable foundation he founded, Kanro.

According to market analytics platform Arkham Intelligence, Buterin staged a massive sell-off on Monday, diverting various digital assets from his wallet. 

In the report, it was revealed that Buterin sold 70 million NEIRO worth around $74,095 (around Rp. 1.1 billion) and 92,000 DOGE (Dogecoin) worth around $35,233 (around Rp. 563.7 million). His total sales reached almost $1 million (around Rp. 16 billion), which shows his intention to raise funds for charity.

Donate to Kanro

Analysis by EmberCN, a pseudonymous on-chain analyst, revealed that Buterin appears to be consolidating his holdings to send donations to Kanro. 

This foundation was founded by Buterin to deal with problems related to COVID-19 and other pandemic issues. 

EmberCN stated, “[Buterin] routinely sells memecoins donated to his wallet: [On Monday], he sold a total of 28 memecoins worth 984,000 USDC, and then donated the USDC to a Kanro address.”

This step is not the first time Buterin has taken this step. In October, blockchain journalist Colin Wu reported that Buterin had sold around $340,000 (around IDR 5.4 billion) in memecoins in just half an hour. 

Performance of Assets Sold by Ethereum Boss

However, not all assets sold by Buterin are in good condition. Some tokens experienced sharp declines due to small market capitalization and poor pool depth. 

For example, the DINU token fell by 68%, while SHIB (Shiba Inu) fell by 38%. These sales highlight the risks faced by investors in the memecoin market, which is often highly volatile.

With this step, Buterin not only shows his concern for social issues, but also reminds us of the importance of transparency and responsibility in the crypto world. This generous action can be an inspiration for many people in the industry to contribute more to society.
