Chromia Update (CHR): Incentivized Testing Release on Mainnet About 2 Weeks Away

Bittime - In the fifth update of 2024 of Chromia. As the 'Road to Mainnet' phase progresses, Chromia (CHR) updates will focus on the roadmap, along with important announcements and news from the Chromia ecosystem.

Release Incentivized Testing on Mainnet

Chromia is excited to announce that incentivized testing is expected to begin in approximately two weeks. The program will be divided into three initiatives, each targeting a different focus area:

Security and Stability Test : Aimed at programmers and blockchain enthusiasts to ensure the robustness of the Chromia platform.

Dapp Creation and Deployment : Designed for developers to create and deploy decentralized applications.

Vault and Dapp Interactions : Targeted at everyday users to test interactions between Vault and dapps.

Chromia Vault

The basic features of Chromia Vault, such as account creation and native CHR transfer, are now complete and will form the basis for public testing. We are also finalizing advanced account creation methods and integrating the EVM bridge into the Vault UI. These features are nearly complete and will be included in an upcoming testing program.

Trail of Bits Audit Progress

Last month, Chromia announced that it had hired Trail of Bits, a top 10 audit firm, to perform security audits on several mainnet components, including Directory Chain, Economy Chain (covering native fees, rewards, and staking), Postchain Networking, and mechanisms EBFT Chromia consensus. The audit has been ongoing for four weeks and will continue for another three weeks. The feedback received so far has been invaluable, leading to various improvements, and no findings have been identified as major roadblocks to the mainnet launch.

Mainnet Launch Date Announcement

On April 29, co-founder Alex Mizrahi outlined the process for setting a mainnet launch date:

“After assessing the results of the incentivized testing and audit process, Chromia departments (C level, development, marketing, business development, etc.) will coordinate to set and announce an official mainnet launch date.”

Developer Experience Team Update

The May Developer Experience (Devex) Update highlighted several important milestones aimed at improving the development environment for dapp creators. Chromia's CLI is now integrated with the VS Code Plugin UI, significantly streamlining the programming and testing process.

Launch of the Technical Blog Series

May also marked the launch of Chromia's new Technical Blog series, aimed at current and aspiring Rell developers. These entries share insights from various experts in the Chromia ecosystem and are part of Chromia's broader efforts to attract and support developers as Chromia moves toward mainnet and beyond.
