Other names that are often mentioned regarding the creation of Bitcoin include Hal Finney, one of the first people to accept Bitcoin transactions, and Nick Szabo, a computer scientist known in the world of cryptographic assets. However, until now, there is no conclusive evidence that can prove who the real figure behind Satoshi Nakamoto is.

Debate Among the Bitcoin Community

Within the Bitcoin community itself, there is quite a strong debate about whether Satoshi Nakamoto's identity should be revealed or not. Many argue that the anonymity of Bitcoin's creators is something that should be respected. They believe that Nakamoto deliberately chose to remain anonymous, and that is his right.

One Bitcoin figure, Peter McCormack, voiced his concerns regarding the impact of this disclosure. 

“Satoshi gave the world the great gift of Bitcoin, but he deliberately chose to remain anonymous — a decision that must be respected,” McCormack said in one of his podcasts. 

For those who think similarly, revealing Nakamoto's identity could undermine the essence of what has been built through Bitcoin.

However, there are quite a few who hope that Nakamoto's identity will be revealed for the sake of transparency. Whoever holds the keys to these 1.1 million Bitcoins certainly has enormous economic power, and many feel that the public has a right to know who that person (or group) is.
