Jupiter Launches a New API with Many Improvements

Bittime - Jupiter, the premier decentralized trading aggregator in the Solana ecosystem, announced the launch of its new Application Programming Interface (API). After that, Jupiter will deprecate the legacy API at the end of August 2024.  

Improvements on the New API

This new API introduced by Jupiter brings a number of improvements designed to improve speed, security, and integration within the Solana ecosystem. Here are some of the improvements the new API offers.

1. Multiple Endpoints: The new API provides multiple endpoints that allow users to access only verified tokens, tradable sets, or the entire universe of tokens. Users can also search by mint address or partner tag provided.
2. Speed: While the old API took hours to display new tokens, this new API is built on Metropolis infrastructure capable of displaying new markets in less than a minute. All transactions that occur on Solana are filtered for the creation of new markets, and token metadata from those new markets is immediately available.
3. Integration: This API is integrated with the Jupiter community's verification system and various other partner lists. Verified tokens will automatically be included in community lists, including sanctum lists and others.
4. Security: Jupiter has increased security measures by identifying fake tokens that try to imitate the names and symbols of popular tokens, and removing them from the API. Tokens reported by the community as suspicious will also be banned.
5. One-Stop Shop: This new API combines market metrics such as daily volume on Jupiter and other important metadata, such as token freeze and minting authority, in a single API call. It provides a complete overview of the tokens being traded.

New API Development  

Development of this new API took several months and involved significant effort from Jupiter team members. They have to keep up with the thousands of markets and tokens created every day, fix missing market and token data, and handle special cases as they arise. 

Additionally, they had to migrate routing engines to a new distributed infrastructure and harden the system with strict monitoring and logging. Jupiter also expressed his appreciation to all team members who worked hard to perfect this new API.
