Fractal Bitcoin Mainnet to Launch on September 9, 2024

Bittime - Fractal Bitcoin will launch mainnet on September 9, 2024 and has released a token distribution plan. Interestingly, Fractal Bitcoin decided to allocate 80% of tokens to the community.

Of the total distribution of Fractal Bitcoin tokens, 50% will be used for mechanisms of proof-of-work (PoW) mining. Miners will be rewarded for contributions in securing the network.  

Additionally, 15% of the total tokens will be stored as an ecosystem treasury, which will be used to support the development and growth of the Fractal Bitcoin ecosystem. 

A total of 5% of tokens will be allocated to pre-salt with period lock-up for 7 months and will be released gradually over the next 12 months. Meanwhile, another 5% will be given to consultants who play an important role in project development.

Furthermore, 10% of the tokens will be used for community grants, which aim to support various initiatives and projects built on the Fractal ecosystem.  Lastly, 15% of tokens will be awarded to core contributors who have made major contributions in developing Fractal Bitcoin to this stage. 

However, these tokens for the team and core contributors will experience a period lock-up to ensure that they remain committed to the long-term development of this project.

Key Features of Fractal Bitcoin

Apart from token distribution, Fractal Bitcoin also revealed several key features that will be launched soon. One of the most anticipated features is the activation of the BRC-20 protocol at block height 21,000 on mainnet. 

Additionally, Fractal Bitcoin will also launch PizzaSwap (formerly known as Fractal Swap) on testnet this week. PizzaSwap is a platform for exchanging crypto assets on the Fractal network.

For expanding cross-chain support, Fractal Bitcoin is testing mini asset bridge and Bool Bridge. These two bridges are designed to facilitate asset transfers between different networks and strengthen the interoperability of the Fractal ecosystem. 

In addition, Fractal is also working with various wallet providers to expand support beyond the UniSat wallet, so that users can have more choices in storing and managing assets.

Fractal Bitcoin not only focuses on launching new features, but also continues to carry out technical optimizations to support more Bitcoin protocols and Fractal's native protocol. This is done to attract more applications and developers to join the Fractal Bitcoin ecosystem.
