Donald Trump's Crypto Portfolio Plummets, Why?

Bittime - Donald Trump's crypto portfolio has plummeted in recent months. Its value is now only around $1 million, down more than 90% from its previous high. 

Trump's personal crypto assets mostly consist of meme coins such as TRUMP and TROG, which are currently experiencing a massive price correction.

The TRUMP token, which once touched a fantastic valuation of $75 billion, is now only worth around $7.7 billion overall. As a large holder of these tokens, Trump's crypto wealth has also eroded sharply.

At its peak, Donald Trump's crypto portfolio reached a value of over $50 billion just from TRUMP tokens. 

Coupled with a $15 million crypto donation in the form of other meme coins, the portfolio was once considered one of the largest digital assets owned by a political figure.

However, in the past two months, the value of the TRUMP token plunged more than 90%, causing the loss of tens of billions of dollars in total value portfolio crypto Donald Trump.

Controversy of TRUMP Token  

Since its initial launch, the TRUMP token has attracted pros and cons. Not long after the token was launched, a meme coin project appeared which was linked to Melania Trump. 

In fact, a number of members of Congress such as Senator Elizabeth Warren have asked for an investigation into Trump's involvement in this crypto project.

Currently, approximately 80% of the total supply of TRUMP tokens is still controlled by Trump-affiliated entities, including CIC Digital and Fight Fight Fight. Token distribution will be carried out in stages over the next three years.

Donald Trump's Crypto Portfolio: Focus on Meme Coin

One of the main reasons Donald Trump's crypto portfolio is in freefall is the shift in his investment strategy. 

In February, Trump moved $3.2 million worth of Ethereum assets from his personal portfolio. Now, most of its assets consist of meme coins such as TROG and TRUMP.

TTROG tokens became the largest asset in Trump's portfolio with a value of around $670,000, while TRUMP tokens only had $187,000 remaining. Whereas previously, both of them were worth millions of dollars.

Donald Trump's Crypto Portfolio: WLFI Project

Even though Donald Trump's crypto portfolio is in decline, the World Liberty Financial (WLFI) project is showing positive signals. After initially struggling to reach its fundraising target of $300 million, the project was revised to $30 million.

Thanks to investment from Justin Sun, WLFI raised $52.95 million through the sale of more than 3.4 billion tokens. 

According to the project's official documents, Trump's company, DT Marks DEFI LLC, will receive 75% of the net profits from the token sale. This shows the potential revival of Donald Trump's crypto portfolio.
