Beware of Meme Coin Scam by Fake Influencers!

Bittime - A X (Twitter) user with the username Bamboo revealed a fraud involving meme coins. This scam is carried out by a group of fake influencers who cheat people out of $20,000 every day.

Tactics of Meme Coin Scam

Bamboo explains some of the tactics used by these scammers. They often impersonate famous influencers and post stolen tweets and artwork to attract attention. 

Additionally, they collect crypto wallet addresses from victims, manipulate token supply and price, and block other users who try to alert others. 

After launching the tokens, they quickly sell them for a profit. These fraudsters allegedly bought old accounts followed by well-known people in the crypto industry to gain trust.  

Identifying Fraudulent Accounts

Bamboo said several accounts suspected of being involved in this fraud were accounts with the usernames @ggaryplayz, @punk2537, @Retardio_eth, and @trenchesexe. 

These accounts were detected carrying out fraudulent projects and token manipulation on the Solana network with the same pattern. They launch projects with promises of huge profits, but in the end leave victims with losses or also known as pump and dump schemes.

Bamboo also urges users to be careful and block accounts suspected of being involved in this fraud. In this way, users can protect themselves from becoming the next victim.
