Taiko, which launched at the end of last May and aims to provide users with cheaper and faster transactions than the Ethereum mainnet, has generated $900,000 for Blob in less than two weeks since its launch, according to Odaily. By purchasing a Blob, Taiko can transfer user transactions to the Ethereum network.

As part of Ethereum's upgrade, Blob, a new resource for the L2 network was released in March. This allows publishing Ethereum transactions at low fees, whereas Taiko competitors, such as Optimism, spend less than $1,000 per day on Blob.

Daniel Wang, CEO of Taiko Labs, said that this protocol uses more Blobs than other L2 protocols because this is a design choice, not a bug. He also said that Taiko has just launched its mainnet and many issues need to be resolved before it stabilizes.

Taiko Protocol, which was released in late May, has generated $900,000 for Blob in just two weeks. Daniel Wang, CEO of Taiko Labs, said that Taiko Labs' use of larger Blobs was a design choice, not a bug. Ethereum's Taiko Layer 2 has enabled permissionless sequencing and proof following the launch of its mainnet and token. Apart from that, it also claims to be the first rollup to do so. The team states that permissionless sequencing allows anyone to sequence Taiko blocks in a decentralized manner. This differs from other Ethereum rollups, which currently use a centralized sequencer to order their blocks, thereby introducing a number of risks.

Additionally, the total distribution of Taiko tokens consists of 48.5% to key stakeholders, 20% to Taiko Labs and core team, 16.88% to Taiko Foundation reserves, and 11.62% to investors. Another twenty percent of tokens will be held by the DAO Treasury.

After launch, there were two airdrops, namely the Genesis airdrop which distributed 5% of the 1 billion token supply and the Trailblazer airdrop which distributed 10%.
