Total ETH Held by WazirX Hackers Reaches 59,097 ETH

Bittime - WazirX, one of the largest crypto exchanges in India, recently suffered a cyber attack. Based on Spot On Chain monitoring, the total value of Ethereum (ETH) currently held by hackers has reached 59,097 ETH.

NThe total value of Ethereum (ETH) currently held by hackers has reached 59,097 ETH, with a total value of around $201 million. Of this amount, 15,298 ETH (worth $52 million) was stolen directly from exchanges, while 43,799 ETH (worth $149 million) was obtained by selling assets such as SHIB, MATIC, and PEPE.

Details of Assets Stolen from WazirX

In this attack, hackers managed to obtain various types of assets with enormous value. The following are details of the assets that were stolen and sold by the attacker to obtain ETH.

• 15,298 ETH (worth $52 million) was stolen directly from the exchange.
• 5.43 trillion SHIB (worth $90.2 million).
• 20.5 million MATIC (worth $10.2 million).
• 640.27 billion PEPE (worth $7.48 million).

The attacker was also known to still hold approximately $12 million in other altcoins, including CHR, CELR, OOKI, and FRONT.

Stealing Assets and Converting them to ETH

After successfully stealing and selling various assets, the hacker has not yet taken the next step with the ETH he owns. The hacker may still be planning his next move or waiting for the right time to sell and use the ETH.

In addition, this attack also causes WazirX loss of various other assets, including 5.79 million USDT and 26.28 billion FLOKI.

Meanwhile, the hacker has sold all of PEPE, GALA, RNDR, COS, OGN, and REQ to gain 5,270 ETH (worth $18.14 million) and is apparently still selling more assets to gain ETH.
