DOGS Token Transactions Cause Overload on TON Network

Bittime - DOGS token transactions cause overload on the TON network. This caused some verification nodes to lose consensus, and resulted in temporary downtime on the TON network. 

Surge in DOGS Token Transactions 

TON Foundation revealed that the spike in $DOGS transaction volume was the main cause of network overload. This increase in transactions was so large that it caused the network's garbage collection function to become overwhelmed. 

This function is important for clearing unnecessary data from memory and keeping the network running efficiently. However, this overload causes many verification nodes to lose consensus, which ultimately leads to downtime.

DOGS users may experience delays or failures in transactions during this downtime period.

Garbage Collection function

Function garbage collection or garbage collection is very important in blockchain networks to manage memory efficiently. This function deletes data that is no longer needed, so that the node can operate more smoothly. 

However, when this function is overworked due to a surge in transactions, nodes can become slow or even lose the ability to operate properly. This is what happened to the TON network when DOGS transaction volume spiked.

Network TON Restart Verification Node  

When verification nodes lose consensus, the blockchain network experiences disruptions that can have serious impacts on network stability. Consensus is a mechanism that allows all nodes in a network to agree on the same blockchain state. 

When consensus is lost, transactions cannot be verified and the network stops functioning. To resolve this issue, TON Foundation plans to restart the verification node.
