Vitalik Buterin Donates ETH from MOODENG Token Sale to Charity

Bittime - Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, sold 10 billion MOODENG tokens worth approximately $762,000.

Vitalik Buterin Sells MOODENG Token 

Token MOODENG is a meme coin launched on the Solana network. The proceeds from the sale, around 308.7 ETH or the equivalent of $762,000, were used to fund his charity projects. 

In addition, 260.15 ETH, or around $640,000, was donated to Kanro, a charitable organization focused on biotechnology and developing pandemic solutions, especially in low-income areas. 

Vitalik Buterin stated that the funds he donated would be directed towards supporting technology that addresses airborne infectious diseases.

MOODENG Token Price Drops

After Vitalik Buterin sold his 10 billion MOODENG tokens, the price of MOODENG tokens on the market fell by 20% and was trading at $0.10.

This drastic decline also sparked concern among MOODENG token holders. Even so, the Ethereum founder emphasized that the sales proceeds he received would always be donated to charity so he did not receive any profits.

Vitalik Buterin Supports Tornado Cash

Apart from selling MOODENG tokens for donations, Vitalik Buterin also supports Tornado Cash developers who are currently involved in legal problems.

Previously, the Ethereum founder sold the NEIRO meme coin and donated the proceeds to the "Free Alexey & Roman" campaign, to raise funds for the legal defense of the Tornado Cash developer.

Tornado Cash is a platform that focuses on transaction privacy on the Ethereum blockchain, but became the center of controversy after being caught up in legal issues. 

Vitalik Buterin's support for its developers shows his commitment to fighting for the freedom to develop blockchain technology, especially with regard to privacy.

Vitalik Buterin Invites the Crypto Community to Donate

Through his social media, Vitalik Buterin gave a message to the crypto community. He stated that meme coins will have the greatest value when they are used to create a positive impact.

The founder of Ethereum also encouraged the community to be more involved in charitable decision making through the formation of a DAO, so that community participation could be more active in directing donations.
